Bereavement Group: Meets alternate Tuesdays in the Presbytery at 2.00 pm. Contact: Sister Mary James
Bereavement Visiting Group: Aims to be available to support any parishioner who has been bereaved. Home visits are made by arrangement with total privacy guaranteed. Contact: Yvonne De Souza or Michael Blundell via the Presbytery.
Bingo: Alternate Tuesdays in the Parish Centre (term time), run by St George's School Association, raising funds for the school. From 7.30 pm. Fun night with prizes for family and friends. New volunteers welcome. Contact: Florence Viret & Sarah Barlow.

CAFOD: The official Catholic overseas development and relief agency in England and Wales and part of the Caritas Int'l Federation. Charity Committee: Incorporating TWIN (Third World in Need), and Enfield and Brookfield Together - Sierra Leone Appeal. The committee is responsible for allocating an annual budget, approved by the Parish Priest and Parish Finance Committee, to charitable causes home and abroad. It comprises of volunteer parishioners who meet 4/5 times per year. New applications from parishioners for funding charities or good causes are welcome. Children's Week: Annual event organised for one week in the summer at OLW. Details published in the Parish Newsletter nearer the time.
Christmas Lunch: organised by volunteers for those who are elderly and would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day. Contact: Chandra Woollard leaving details via the Presbytery.
Church Cleaning: A voluntary group meets every Wednesday morning. Volunteers welcome.
Church Gardens: Contact: Kevin McHugh via Presbytery. Volunteer Gardeners welcome.
Coffee Club: After Sunday 9.15 am Mass in the Parish Centre. All donations to charity. All welcome, including new helpers. Contact: Mary Newman

Easter Youth Activity Week: for school years 6-10. Fun days out. Advertised through the Newsletter around Feb/March each year.
Ecumenical (Local Groups of Churches) contacts: Enfield Town & Forty Hill Joe Grachvogel; North West Enfield Paul Tanner.
Eucharistic Ministers: Assist the priests as necessary in giving Holy Communion in church and some also/or in taking it to the sick. Each year new ministers are trained and commissioned. If you would like to be considered for this ministry, please leave contact details for Fr Witon. Twice a year there are afternoons of recollection in Advent and Lent. If you know of sick or housebound people who would like to receive Holy Communion at home, please leave their details at the presbytery for the coordinators of this ministry - Janet Bradshaw and Irma England (OLSG) or Molly Mortimer (OLW). (See also Hospital Visits entry.) The priests of the parish are always available for Anointing of the Sick or Confessions at home.

First Friday of each month: Exposition of Blessed Sacrament and day of Eucharistic Adoration 9.30-7.30 pm. Please commit to spend 30 mins. with the Lord by adding your name to the watching list in the porch or by contacting Kathy Carroll.
Gift Aid: A form may be signed by which the Parish may reclaim tax on any gift you make to the Parish. Contact: Marianne Mancini or collect a form from Presbytery.
HCPT Pilgrimage Trust: Takes children from the Parish and locally with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to Lourdes at Easter. For enquiries regarding a child that might benefit, or volunteering as a helper or to get involved in raising funds for children's fares, contact: Matt Connolly

Irish Music Classes: Feith an Cheoil! for children aged 7 and over in the Parish Centre on Tuesdays 5-6.30 pm (term time). Contact: Eilish.
Justice & Peace Group: Meets monthly on Thursday as advertised in the Newsletter from 8.15-10 pm. Works in the Parish and with other local Christians and community groups to raise awareness on justice and peace issues. Contact: Tony Sheen.

Knights of St. Columba: Meet every second Monday of the month at 8.00 pm in OLW. Contact: Mike Malone.
Meditation (Christian) Group: We meet praying this form of silent prayer using a mantra or prayer word which is rooted in the Gospel, the letters of St Paul and originated with the early Desert Fathers of the 4th century. A Benedictine monk John Main has rediscovered this ancient prayer tradition for contemporary people. Our meeting on Monday evenings at 8,15 includes a recorded talk on meditation, 20 minutes meditation and a question and answer session. Meet a Need with Christian Care: Links people who offer help with those who need it on behalf of the Local Ecumenical Partnership of Enfield Town and Forty Hill Churches of which we are one. Anyone wishing to volunteer or those who need assistance e.g. housebound, elderly, help with shopping etc, or simply want to talk to someone can tel the office based in St Paul's Centre, 102 Church Street, EN2 6AR (8363 9929), 10-4 pm Mon-Fri.
Mothers & Toddlers: Offers coffee morning for parents to socialise whilst toddlers are prepared for playgroups with stories and puzzles. OLSG meets Wednesdays (term time), 10-11.30 am in Parish Centre. Contact: Sinead. OLW meets on Tuesday, 10-11.30 am, contact Jynella Lamey-Chang. Another group meets on Friday, 10-11.30 am. Mount Carmel Ladies' Group: Meets 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month at 7.45 pm in the Parish Centre. All ladies welcome for mainly social activities as well as supporting Parish functions. Contact: Wendy Franklin, Sheila Feord and Janet Bradshaw.

Mount Carmel Parish Centre: Can be hired by parishioners when available for private parties etc. Leave a message for the Bookings Secretary via the Presbytery. Licensed bar is open on Sundays after the 12 noon & 6.30 pm Masses, run by volunteer parishioners (rota-basis). All welcome.
Mount Carmel Pre-School: provides a wide range of organised activities for pre-school children (ages 2 1/2 upwards) on Mon., Tues. & Fri. 9.30-12 noon (term time) in the Parish Centre. Contact: Miriam Fernandez, leave contact details via the Presbytery.
Music /Choir Groups: 9:15 am Mass, OLSG: Contact: Sarah Silve. 10:30 am Mass, OSLG: Contact: Michael Hennin via the Presbytery. 10:30 am Mass, OLW: Contact: Alex Tanner via the Presbytery. New Instrumentalists and/or singers are always welcome for all groups. Newsletter: Prepared weekly by volunteers (rota-basis). Material for publication needs to be received at the Presbytery by 12 noon Wednesday.
Padre Pio Prayer Group: Pray weekly at OLW on Thursday after 10.00 am Mass. Contact: Peggy Getling.
Readers at Mass: Training is provided for those interested who have a clear speaking voice and would like to read at Sunday Masses and other occasions. Please leave contact details via the presbytery: Maria Mitchell (OLSG) and Hilary Walls (OLW). Afternoons of recollection are arranged twice a year in Advent and Lent.
Relaxation & Prayer Session:: For all those who feel the need to come, relax and pray. Tuesday 10.30-11.10 am. All welcome. Entrance via the presbytery. Contact Kathy Carroll.
Rosary Prayer Groups: The Rosary is prayed Monday to Friday in OLSG at 12.10 pm, in preparation for the 12.30 pm Mass. An intercessory Rosary Prayer Group usually meet at 6.30 pm on Wednesdays in OLSG. Contact Rita Akerman.

Scouts - 13th Enfield Scout Group: All sections open to boys and girls and meet weekly (term time) in the Scout/Guide Headquarters in Halifax Road, Enfield, EN2.
Beavers are for ages 6-8 yrs. Meet Tuesdays 5.00-6.00 pm.
Cubs are for ages 8-10½yrs. Meet Tuesdays 6.30-8.00 pm. For both sections above contact: Mrs. Spenceley (Akela).

Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP): Members are dedicated to visiting the sick, lonely and house-bound either at home or in hospital to minister to their spiritual and material needs. Meets second Tuesday of each month, 8.00 pm in the Presbytery. Contact: Fintan Gallagher or Gene Mancini leaving details via the Presbytery.

Special Needs Support Group: To provide social and spiritual support for all those with special needs and their families. Meetings are advertised in the Parish Newsletter. There are also Saturday Clubs for Special Needs. The monthly meeting venues are advertised on the Catechetics Notice Board in the Porch of OLSG. For both contact Molly Mortimer.
St George's Parish Football: for children in St George's School from Reception to Year 3. Weekly session (term time) run by parents of the children. Contact Frances Clohessy.

Third World In Need (TWIN): Since 1975, this Parish Charity (charitable Company XT 26571) has channelled some £150,000 to Third World aid and development. It relies entirely on voluntary donations, either in church boxes or by standing order. Meetings open to any parishioner, normally held every other month, as advertised in the Parish newsletter. TOPP UPS: run once a month in the Parish Centre, serving snacks and light lunches. All proceeds to the Nightingale Community Hospice Trust (NCHT). All welcome. Contact: Sylvia Woollard.
Welcome Group: Organises a regular welcome occasion for new parishioners, normally twice yearly. If you would like to be invited to the next occasion, or you are already a parishioner and would like to be part of the welcome group, please leave your details via the Presbytery.
Youth Club: For School Years 7,8 and 9. Each year group meets once a month on a seperate Friday (term time). 7.30-9 pm in the Parish Centre. Contact leaving message via the Presbytery.
