Go in Peace to Love and Serve the Lord
With these words we are sent from Mass to make a difference in the world, to proclaim the Good News, to enable people to recognise Christ, to be the message of faith, hope and love to all we meet and in all we strive to do.
In early summer this year we mark the end of the Year for Priests. However in this time of great demand for their service, we cannot expect our priests to cope alone. Many Church documents remind us of the theology and foundations for active participation by all members of the Body of Christ.
This parish is blessed with a large number of lay volunteers who give their time and talents without complaint, without asking and without praise. These also need our support.
During summer and autumn we will be asking your opinion on lay ministry; hosting a parish centre fayre to highlight existing ministries; and encouraging parishioners to give their time and talents.
‘Far from being self-contained individuals, we are,in truth, always mutually dependent. We are made for one another. This is verified by the sense of fulfillment and satisfaction we experience when we act in generosity and solidarity with those in need.’ (Choosing the Common Good 2010)Please watch out for further details in the Parish newsletter and on this website and please do respond with generosity.
